Attention High School Students!

As a member of the Junior Forest Ranger (JFR) or Aboriginal Junior Forest Ranger (Aboriginal JFR) crew, you’ll participate in a seven-week summer work experience program that allows you an opportunity to explore career paths in forestry, natural resource management and earth sciences.

A typical working day will not look like any other job you’ve had before!

Become a Junior Forest Ranger!

  • Be part of a camp-based crew (40 spots available), an aboriginal community crew (five participating communities), a Treaty 7 camp-based crew (eight spots available), or a Métis camp-based crew (eight spots available).
  • Be a Crew Leader or Sub Leader in a host community or at a camp-based location.
  • Seasonal employment opportunity for 96 high school students and 24 high school graduates.

Leader Training May 28th, 2012 to June 8th, 2012
Crew members report to Hinton for mandatory training July 4th, 2012
Crew Member Start Date in Area or Community July 12th, 2012
Family Weekend August 3rd to August 6th, 2012
Thomas Parker Scholarship application deadline July 16th, 2012
Bull of the Woods August 21st and 22nd, 2012
Last Day for Crew Members August 23rd, 2012
