Thomas Parker Scholarship
Since 2009, Sustainable Resource Development has awarded the Thomas Parker Memorial Scholarship to a past participant of
the Alberta Junior Forest Ranger program. The scholarship is awarded at the annual Bull of the Woods competition at Cold
Creek staging camp.

Application Form and Deadline
Application due date: July 16, 2012 at 4:30 p.m. Applications must be received by mail
or fax.
Eligibility
Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Completed one or more years in SRD’s Junior Forest Ranger or Aboriginal Junior Forest Ranger program.
- Be an Alberta resident.
- Be enrolled in a post secondary program to obtain a degree or diploma in natural resource management, in an education
institution in the province of Alberta.
Who Was Thomas Parker?
Thomas Parker was a JFR crew member during the summer of 2008.
Thomas had many of the qualities that are integral to being a successful Junior Forest Ranger; he was creative, adventurous,
hardworking and loved the outdoors. He was in the JFR program to explore his aspirations for a career in natural resources.
