Alberta Fisheries Management Round Table
The Alberta Fisheries Management Round Table is a provincial-level stakeholder advisory
and consultation forum. This Round Table is made up of approximately 40-50 representatives
of stakeholder groups related to fishing and fish conservation and management, representing:
- Aboriginal peoples
- Anglers
- Commercial and domestic fishers
- Guides
- Outdoor writers
- Sportfishing industry
The Round Table typically convenes in the spring and fall of each year to discuss
substantive issues related to fisheries management. As an example, one of the present
challenges of the Round Table is to lead the way in a public consultation process
to define what "Fishing in the 21st Century" should look like in Alberta.
