Electronic Assignments
The Lands Division is responsible for the management of approximately 220,000 surface dispositions in accordance with:
-
Public Lands Act
-
Mines and Minerals Act
-
Related legislation, regulations and policies
The Lands Division receives and approves the assignment of approximately 15,000 oil and gas dispositions annually.
About the Electronic Assignment Service
Alberta Sustainable Resource Development (SRD), in cooperation with Alberta Energy, has developed an online service that
will enable clients to request the assignment of surface dispositions electronically.
The initial implementation allows for full assignment of disposition types:
-
Easement (EZE)
-
Licence of Occupation (LOC)
-
Mineral Surface Lease (MSL)
-
Pipeline Installation Lease (PIL)
-
Pipeline Agreement (PLA)
-
Vegetation Control Easement (VCE)
The electronic assignment service extends the functionality of the existing Electronic Transfer System, developed by Alberta
Energy, for oil and gas agreement transfers.
The electronic assignment service will benefit industry and Sustainable Resource Development by allowing the administration
process to be significantly reduced due to online entry and verification. Industry will have all information available to
them online to complete a request for an assignment.
Accessing Electronic Assignments
