Alberta’s public lands are managed under an integrated resource management philosophy that supports forest production, watershed protection, wildlife habitat, recreation, oil and gas well sites, agricultural production and industrial development, to mention only a few of the uses.

As a visitor of public lands, it is important to recognize that we are an integral part of the ecosystem, just as the water, forests, grasslands, fish and wildlife are. Sustainable Resource Development supports responsible use of our public lands through many of our programs such as BearSmart, Use Respect and reforestation efforts.
