About the Watchable Wildlife program
During the late 1970s and early 1980s, the Fish and Wildlife Division of Alberta
Sustainable Resource Development (SRD) published Alberta's Watchable Wildlife, a
series of brochures and posters detailing wild species descriptions and other related
material.
The series was used in school classrooms, and by youth groups and outdoor instructors
to teach about Alberta’s amazingly rich wildlife heritage. While the Fish and Wildlife
Division no longer produces these documents in printed form, information about some
of Alberta’s many wild species is still available on the SRD website.
